Welcome to the Way Back Home

Welcome to the way back home
Welcome to a soft afternoon’s rain
Did you see the heartache?
Did you see my back break?
Did you see the blood race
down my swollen face?
And did you see the glory?
Did you see my glory
reign all over the place?

Welcome to the Hill of Sorrow
Welcome to the place of my shame
Did you feel the earth quake?
Did you see the veil break?
Did you see the tears race
down my swollen face?
And did you see the glory?
Did you see my glory
reign all over the place?

Did you see the Son rise on the third day?
Did you see the power in my lifeless form?
Did you ever realize from the beginning,
God never meant for man to be alone.

Welcome to the glorious cross
Welcome to the world’s salvation
Did you see the darkness?
Did you see the madness?
Did you see the sadness
on my swollen face?
And did you see the glory?
Did you see my glory
reign all over the place?

Were you in the still crowd when the soldier asked,
“Truly this must be the Son of God?”
Did you think the time would come that nations would pray
to the Holy One known as the Only One?

My heart is breaking every day
until you realize that I didn’t die for me?

Welcome to the way back home
Welcome to a soft afternoon’s rain.
