The April 3, 2012 City Council Meeting – The Quick and the Dead

The April 3, 2012 City Council Meeting lasted 24 minutes.  It was highlighted by Councilman Joe Mickens apologizing to Hilda Fox and letting everyone in Ward 2 know his telephone numbers.  This was a result of Ms. Fox’s attack on the Councilman, during the last Council meeting, for not returning her phone calls.

In other news, citizen Leon Speck was assured that the Public Work Department was finished working on the soccer complex and have returned to regular duty.

The City announced that they will be re-advertising for the work on the “Bridge to Nowhere.”

And, then it was done.

The Real Story is incomplete on the Leon Speck comments. He stated to the Council and Mayor that they had berated Mike Pratt knowing that the Public Works
Department has been dedicated to in kind projects which has prevented that department from serving the city in the manner expected by the citizens. He encouraged the council to apologize to Mike Pratt. He also included the fact that this is not the first administration to jump on public works department heads knowing that the council had committed them to projects that used up considerable labor hours.

Why can not these brilliant individuals figure out that the bridge is to nowhere. There is nothing scenic or pleasing at the end.
