Bomb Threat at Fairview Elementary

Editor’s Note: When a representative of The Real Story arrived on the scene, the staff of Fairview Elementary and emergency personnel had nearly completed an orderly evacuation. They are to be commended for the calm and professional manner in which they handled this stressful situation.

Fairview Aerospace & Sciences Magnet School received a bomb threat today (March 9, 2012), at approximately 8:40am.

Students and staff were immediately evacuated to Fairview Baptist Church, in a safe and orderly manner. Bomb-sniffing dogs from Columbus Air Force Base were called in and found no evidence of a bomb. Emergency Personnel gave the “all clear” to return to the building, at approximately 12:15pm. All students returned to the school at that time, and resumed the school’s regular schedule.
