Caledonia Cub Scouts to Participate in Pinewood Derby

The annual tradition of the Pinewood Derby roars to life this Saturday, March 3, as scouts from Pack 9 of the Caledonia Cub Scouts compete in a local event.  The excitement will begin at noon, and will be held at the Caledonia Elementary School cafeteria.

Boys in 1st through 5th grades, as well as their siblings, have designed, built, and painted their own racing masterpieces in hopes of snagging a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place trophy. All participants will receive a ribbon and/or certificate.

Weeks in advance, racers begin with a BSA car kit which includes: a block of wood, 4 wheels, 4 axles, a number sticker sheet, and an instruction/rule sheet. Children are encouraged to do as much work as possible on their own cars with adult supervision.

Friends and family are invited to attend!
