Monday Morning Water Cooler Talk for January 23, 2012

Wow…What a last two weeks! It has been insane. The Madhouse known as Real Story Publishing (RSP) is in the home stretch, and we will be in print Wednesday. We are still finalizing which stores we will be available in and will publish a list as soon as we can. Remember, ask your local convenience store to carry us, and as I said:  if worse comes to worse, we will sell ’em out of the back of my truck.

Whatever it takes, we will make it happen. We are committed to getting the news and views out to you every Wednesday! We look forward to serving the community. It is an honor and a privilege to serve our community in this capacity!

On October 19, 2011, The Staff of RSP wrote the following rules for our publication:

The rules for The Real Story website and newspaper are simple: be honest; be fair. These guidelines are not to be confused with being politically correct or lukewarm. Write with passion! Let your readers know what you feel. This is a media outlet. It will provide a place to speak out and be heard. It will be successful only if the community supports it, either by writing for it, purchasing the paper or advertising. Without these three elements, success will fade away.

If someone is looking to submit an article for publication, please contact me at stjohnjb@realstorypublishing.com and share your idea. If it is suitable for the paper, we will print it. This also includes any political cartoons/caricatures or photos you would like to share.

Everything from axle-bending potholes to corrupt politicians or things that make you happy will be appropriate subjects. The paper will print the best and you can let the community know how you feel then find out what others are thinking. This will be your place to express yourself as you please or to voice your displeasure about events and circumstance happening in our community.

The Real Story will be interactive on all levels and will offer a variety of opinions.  We do not censor your opinion, even if we do not agree with it.  The aim is to give all people a voice, offering news and commentary by people from all walks of life, that are not given anywhere else, such as the unheard voices in the mainstream media. People without a voice should be given one. The opening of this website is a humble beginning. With your help, we will grow into a community powerhouse! So let the fun begin!

As of January 23, 2012, little has changed. Let’s band together and change the world. Our communities need us.

Note: If anyone was paying attention in Friday’s edition of our daily paper, Robert Smith called me a “liar” in the article in reference to police promotions. HMM… How do you feel about this?  The Real Story has an opinion that you can read on Wednesday in our printed blog!

Sorry I missed thar comment Joe. I try to read the most interesting things in the paper, not the lies of some politicians. Wish you luck and look forward to reading your publication.

I don’t have a comment on this article, but a question should be asked of our Police Chief and Mayor. If each member of the police department is REQUIRED to do a community service project then it is a job requirement and therefore must be on paid time. If we are going be pay our officers shouldn’t it be on duty patrolling, investigating and other police activities preventing crime and other enforcement activities?

I wish Mr Berry Hinds would run for City Council. We need someone like him to represent us in this Ward. He has more knowledge and busines sense than anyone we have ever had in that office. I have seen Mr Hinds at most of the Council meeting I have attended. He has always ask the questions no one else will ask. He would be a real assist to the City. I wish someone would encoucourage him to step forward and give us some hope for the future. I have heard a lot of people that think he would do well. We need all the help we can get . We need you Mr Hinds.
